Welcome Author Angela Ford we are so happy to have you here today.
Can you please tell us
about yourself and your work?
Best Selling Romantic Suspense & Contemporary Romance
When
did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I
have always loved to read. Escape into a great story. I've written
here and there over the years but never shared until a couple of
years ago. That's when I got serious and decided to write to share.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? Writers have lots of quirks. We don't sleep much...caffeine addictions lol and I've come to notice my most interesting is that I can write just about anywhere in my house, doctors waiting rooms and anywhere I have a moment or two even just to write a few words of an idea, title or character name.
How do your books get published? I am published with Books to Go Now; a small traditional publisher out of Seattle. I love the personal service they give me. You can check them out at http://www.bookstogonow.com
What do you like to do when you're not writing? Spend time with my family and walk our Pug and new Chug puppy. We live close to a park with paths and trees. It is very peaceful. And yes I plot while I walk lol
How
long does it take you to write a book?
Two
to three weeks when I'm writing a short story. But then I wrote 50K
in 30 days when I participated in NaNoWriMo last November. (National
November Writing Month) I'd write more if the day job wasn't in the
way lol
What
is your work schedule like when you're writing? With a full time day
job it's usually in evenings. Except for weekends I love to write
late at night. There's just something so peaceful when it's dark and
quiet. I've been known to write until 3 or 4 in the morning.

If
you submit, let them know I sent you :)
Where
do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Just
a word or two ignites ideas. I can hear it on the radio, TV, see it
on a sign while walking or driving. And it's best to tell people you
are a writer instead of telling them you hear voices in your head lol
When
did you write your first book and how old were you? The first book I
finished was about fifteen years ago when I was in my thirties. I
didn't publish it until 2013.
What do you like to do when you're not writing? Spend time with my family and walk our Pug and new Chug puppy. We live close to a park with paths and trees. It is very peaceful. And yes I plot while I walk lol
What
does your family think of your writing? They are very supportive and
have become accustomed to my writing ways and quirks. Though I am
frisked before I come to the dinner table-I'm not allowed any
electronic devices during our family dinner lol normally a teen would
have these but in my house it's the teen who won't allow me to write,
promote or chat with anyone besides the family. My parents are my
biggest fans. They ask anyone if they read romance and hand out my
cards or bookmarks.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books? I've learned so much in the past couple of years. The most surprising would be how much promotion goes into the book once written. Writing is the easy part. Learning all the technological ways to promote it was overwhelming in the beginning. I'm still learning but enjoying it!
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite? I'm about to release my eighth book in June 2015! A fav? They all are :) I fall in love with each story and my characters stay with me.

Do
you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so,
what are they?
Never
quit! If you have the passion to write. Then write!write!write!
Wherever and whenever you can. Don't let the lack of sales or bad
reviews get you down. Remember there are so many books to compete
with. So keep trying to promote yourself and your book. And it's
never a bad review. We can always learn and keep improving. Not
everyone will like your story and you can't change that but focus on
your readers that do love your stories and interact with them as much
as you can.
I also have a Street Team on FB – Angie’s Angels – always welcome new angels! A place to keep connected…have some fun and share goodies :) https://www.facebook.com/groups/269396209887638/
Do
you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I
love to hear from my readers! They make me smile and keep writing :)
their reviews and comments make my day. I love to hear they enjoyed
my book, they can't wait for the next, I never disappoint
them...there are so many comments I could write a book of how they
make me feel.
Do
you like to create books for adults?
I
do. I haven't written a children's book. Maybe someday and I'm sure
it would involve my Pugs! I love to escape as a reader. To get away
from the everyday stressors we all encounter. I hope I can do the
same for my readers.
What
do you think makes a good story?
A
great plot. A believable one. Characters you love, cheer for, cry
with; ones that you can relate with. A story that makes you smile in
the end yet you wish didn't end. With suspense and mystery stories (I
write Romantic Suspense and Contemporary Romance) the story must have
great twists and one to keep you on the edge of your seat!
As
a child, what did you want to do when you grew up? It's funny now
that I think of it. I wanted to be so many different professions
which made me wonder if I really knew what I'd be when I grew up lol.
Now it makes sense. I wanted to be a writer so then I could be all
those professions.
Here’s
a lil about me…
I love to hear from my readers!
