Author Amelia Black "Hot Coffee" Blog Tour!

AUTHOR AMELIA BLACK "HOT COFFEE" BLOG TOUR!
Amelia loves coffee (the sweeter the better!) and, as a corollary, oddly-shaped coffee mugs. She adores the company of others, though she considers herself less of a social butterfly and more of a social ladybug, spots and all. She eschews all sorts of organized education, preferring instead to learn by doing (or being done). She lives in Kansas with a male betta fish named Kirk.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I've been writing off and on since I was a teen but it wasn't till this year that I'd heard enough “You should publish!” to finally set about doing it.

How long does it take you to write a book?

Right now I write short stories (about 10,000 words) and quickies (2,000). They're written like stories in pieces – volumes and encounters that actually fit together and make a longer story. Especially the short stories. On an average good day, when I get a good chunk of time to write, I can put out about 8,000 – 10,000 words a day. If I have all day and stay focused I can get 2,000-3,000 words done an hour. Those days are rare though. So... if we take 5 volumes, which I have planned for my short stories, then it can take me around a week or two to finish writing a 50,000   word book.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

It is completely scattered but I try to write in bursts of a few hours. That allows me ample time to “get in the zone”.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

When I'm going to devote myself to “writing time” I wear a specific oversized long sleeve shirt I call my “writing shirt”.

How do your books get published?
Right now I self publish on Amazon.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
Sometimes I talk over ideas with friends but for the most part, if I'm being honest, they just pop into my head.

When did you write your first book and how old were you?

First full “story” was in my early twenties.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Eat. Hang out with friends. Read. Watch movies/tv.

What does your family think of your writing?

They love that I love what I do. They support me.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That the stories are endless.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

At this moment I have 6 short stories, 6 compilations, and 6 other quickies not currently in a compilation that are published but I've written many more that are slated for release. My favorite, the one that spoke to me the most, was actually a Sensations quickie that spurred the   idea for a Romance novel I'm currently working on.

Do you have any suggestions to help me become a better writer? If so, what are they?

Write. Don't be discouraged if you don't find instant success. Keep at it. Most of all talk to people! I especially encourage you to get involved in the writing world on social media – Twitter and Facebook. Those are your best allies.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

This is a quote written in a comment on my Facebook page:
if you like her tweets, you will be overwhelmed with her stories. they are wicked good.
I mean kiss your friend good. you will not be disappointed.

Do you like to create books for adults?
Yes. Very much so!

What do you think makes a good story?

Depth. I think the characters have to have layers, a purpose. Description, too, but not the kind that's there only as a list. Fluidity of description, throwing in those necessary bits to make the characters feel alive in our minds.

As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I wanted to be a psychologist and run a house for runaway girls. Or a real-life sorceress.

Here are my links and other information:

Wentworth College and the city around it is the setting for the Wentworth College Legends series. I write four encounters -four quickies- for each title and then publish them both individually and as a compilation.

We have a Naughty Professor who will sleep with anyone she gets wet for. Student. Coworker. It doesn't matter. At least her classes aren't dull!  http://amzn.com/B01BN774DY

Then there's the sex club. It started as a secret extension of the College's Drama club but The Wicked Club has become a thing all its own. Anything and everything can be found there but it's invite only. It's supported by the most powerful & richest people in town!     http://amzn.com/B01C7LFBVC

Eight women who attend have banded together, creating their own private Sinful Sorority. Moans and groans can be heard coming from their house almost constantly.     http://amzn.com/B01CT5K72O

There's also the freshman who finds her roommate irresistible, drawn to her sexually from the second she sees the back of her. It doesn't take long for her to find out that the feeling is mutual. The two quickly become lovers.   http://amzn.com/B01DR3VSE8

What better job in college than to deliver pizza. Right? It is for this woman because she's loving every minute as she earns big tips delivering herself to the front door.     http://amzn.com/B01F3VB3SI

The Holiday Encounters follow Sarah and Clark, a couple who've decided to take their sex lives to an entirely new level.

We first join them on Valentine's Day. Clark ties her up & puts a ball gag in her mouth during the first story. In the second of the pair she takes charge and it's his turn to obey.

On St. Patrick's Day Clark brings Mia home as a surprise, his gift for Sarah. It's one she thoroughly enjoys. That's the first one. In the second one all three attend a party where Sarah takes charge, initiating a threesome.

Easter finds them at Clark's family farm. In the first one, with his parents away, Clark has very naughty plans that include bondage and the outdoors. The second story finds Sarah serving herself up while they're supposed to be napping. A spoon is involved.

These are written as duos. In the 1st  -Clark's in charge. In the 2nd   -Sarah is.

My Website & PATREON:

I'm very excited to announce that my website/blog is now supported via Patreon. What does that mean? Well, to start with it means changes in the structure of how I do things and in how you can interact with my work. Don't worry... it's all good!
First off I'll be putting my quickies up on there - usually 2-3 new ones a week. Once I've posted enough in a series to warrant the next compilation published to Amazon (the # depends on the series & ranges from 3-5) I'll give it about a full month of being on my site before I upload it for publishing. Don't worry, the stories won't disappear from the site. They'll still be there. Once a compilation goes Live you'll be able to purchase it - though it won't be on KU (restrictions on epublishing work that's already been published in any form– even if it's free on a website).
There will be more than stories on the website, too. Blog posts. Poetry. Musings. Things like that will randomly appear. I think you'll find lots of fun things to keep you occupied and coming back to visit me.
Please, use the link below (or the one at the top right corner of this website) to find out all about the rewards you can get for supporting me as a patron.
Just to entice you, here's one of the rewards for becoming a patron (dependent on pledging a certain amount or higher per month). Entries into the monthly raffle. The more you pledge, the more entries you get!
The initial prize? A 2,000+ story written just for and sent to the winner.

If you like my writing wouldn't it be cool to own a story of your very own, a one of a kind?
